Willow Create Spaces
A development proposal for a double lot in Austin Texas, with a brief for a main house and detached accessory dwelling unit off the alley of each lot. The proposal looks at the project holistically and is able to consider how each piece relates to the whole in an effort to create a creative community, maximize buildable square footage, preserve several heritage trees on site, and create private outdoor space.
In addition to the main house and DADU structures, each unit has a detached garage/studio space that each owner may use as needed, and helps to create private outdoor courtyards for each unit.
The design takes advantage of the typical 5 foot side setback at each interior lot line to create a central boardwalk, connecting all of the creative studios and giving the alley units some main street presence.
